About

The forming and construction of such miniature objects requires the fashioning of specific tools and although I do use a few electric tools. It’s a softly, softly approach to all aspects of making. Patience, determination and to a lesser degree frustration also play a key role in the process.

The final colouring processes used are eco-friendly, non-chemical, and mimic nature’s natural patination – hand burnishing completes the surface manipulation. Each piece is an attempt to make something unique and equally beautiful, with some pieces being made and remade a number of times to achieve the required result. Fragments are cut from those I consider to be unresolved and reworked until the right visual effect is achieved.
