Plaid

From a conceptual perspective, I plan to use both my paternal and maternal histories and their combined cultures to pruduce a series of low-relief sculptures. These works will be based on heraldic, celtic and historic elements – that said, these works are not merely based totally on past family relationships.

They are instead part of a historic, social cultural journey – a respectful homage to those earlier pioneers who helped establish the various communities in the Campaspe region.

In terms of process and construction, these works are composed of anglo-celtic traits and artifacts arranged in geometric fashion representative of my mixed family histories. These include Italian, Scottish and Irish connections from the 1860s to the present day.
